Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini recently announced plans for a new four-lane expressway that will connect the Kurukshetra Bypass, Ladwa Bypass, and Yamunanagar. The project was one of several infrastructure developments discussed during a meeting with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. This initiative aims to improve connectivity across Haryana, a state where every district has gained access to a four-lane highway over the past decade.
Major Highway Projects Receive Central Approval
The central government has given the green light to 12 key highway projects in Haryana. These approvals were finalized after a meeting between CM Saini and Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday. While briefing the media, CM Saini shared the details of these projects, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing the state’s road infrastructure.
One of the most awaited developments is the construction of a four-lane expressway linking the Kurukshetra bypass with Ladwa and Yamunanagar. This project had been under consideration for a while, and now, the detailed project report (DPR) for this expressway is set to be prepared soon.
Faridabad to Jewar Airport Expressway to be Elevated
Another significant decision from the meeting is the approval for elevating a 12-kilometer stretch of the Faridabad-Jewar Airport expressway within Faridabad. This expressway, known as the Faridabad-Jewar greenfield project, will improve access for local residents. The demand for better connectivity from the people of Mohana has also been addressed, with an agreement reached to integrate their region into this project.
More Projects in the Pipeline: Shahabad-Panchkula and Gurugram Congestion Solutions
The state government has also announced the preparation of a DPR for a four-lane road that will connect Shahabad to Panchkula and extend to Dehradun and Haridwar. This will provide smoother travel for residents and visitors to these key cities.
To tackle traffic bottlenecks in Gurugram, a DPR will be prepared for a new route extending from National Mandela Marg in Delhi to MG Road, Rajiv Chowk, and Faridabad intersections. This is part of a larger plan to ease congestion between Gurugram’s Radisson Hotel Mahipalpur and Rajiv Chowk, which are frequently congested areas.
